FALL / WINTER 2020 PROGRAM INTEREST

COVID-19 has upended a lot for many families and here at SCV Adventure Play Foundation we want to continue to support play in the day to day.  By leaning on our resources found in our amazing partners and drawing from the creative minds in the playwork community we are designing innovative programming focused on making space for kids and their caretakers to keep play in their life in a time when it is so necessary.

Below are the three main initiatives we are developing for the 2020 Fall / Winter programming. We have combined these initiatives in a single interest form and we hope you will let us know what you are into! DEADLINE TO FILL OUT AN INTEREST FORM IS OCTOBER 31ST! You can find the interest form  HERE

As always, any questions, comments, ideas, etc can always be sent to us at info@scvadventureplay.com

MINECRAFT ADVENTURE PLAY!

We are working with our friends in the Playwork Collective to create a never before done adventure playground experience in Minecraft!

The amazing folks at the Adventure Playground at the Parish school in Houston, TX have piloted this space with their adventure players and it was an amazing hit!

We are so honored to join with them to expand on their work to make it available to young people beyond Houston!

We are looking for kids to participate in this pilot who already have access too as well as some minecraft experience and want to play with kids across the country in it. :)

RENT A PLAYWORKER

Recently we sent out a survey asking families what they needed for support toward play in their daily existence. The responses were overwhelming in the request and desire for their kids to have access to play in nature again as well as help for parents/caregivers.

To respond to this need we are creating a "Rent a Playworker" program where families can hire a playworker by the hour to hold space to play for their youngsters in the backyard, at a local park green space or anywhere that is convenient for you and also offer advice and guidance specifically on how to make the spaces available more robust for play!

Our playworker will be masked and also bring with them an assortment of sanitized loose parts based on the group that get to stay with you as well!

Due to health standards, this initiative is for single families or for a small pod of children no larger than 8 players.

Since money can be a obstacle for many families right now we are committed to offering financial aid.

Hearts
PLAY PUPPORT PROUP

You read that right folks, we at SCV Adventure Play Foundation know it can be tough to balance working, schooling, time, etc. etc. etc. and we want to offer an opportunity to get support in these trying times.

Our Director and Lead Playworker, Jeremiah Dockray will be available to for questions, get some advice, and also just to make a space to sound off on the frustrations, successes, and curiosities ya'll may have right now.
